COVID-19 Vaccines Available to Buffalo State Students

As you know, New York State is currently working to distribute vaccines to all eligible New Yorkers. With the recent expansion of criteria for appointment eligibility, this email is to remind you that all New Yorkers age 16 and above are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccines.

Here at Buffalo State, we’ve been working closely with SUNY System Administration to secure doses reserved specifically for college students.

A limited supply of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will be available to Buffalo State College students starting Wednesday, April 7, in the Campbell Student Union. Appointments must be scheduled online at https://weigelsp.buffalostate.edu/. Walk-in appointments are not permitted. If you visit the clinic without an appointment, you will not be vaccinated. Appointments will be offered via the online system for as long as vaccine supplies are available.

Please note, eligibility for the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine is limited to New Yorkers 18 and above. If you are currently 16 or 17, please visit https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/ to secure an appointment for a Pfizer vaccine near you. The best vaccine is the vaccine you can get as soon as possible.

We strongly encourage all students to schedule their vaccine appointments before the semester ends and to do their part to protect themselves, their families, and their communities, both here and at home. We know you want to open our campus and the community to the maximum extent possible and vaccinations will help us achieve that goal.

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff members who are eligible can be added to a waiting list to receive the vaccine. Please call the Weigel Wellness Center at 878-6711 to have your name added to the waiting list. Distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You must be on campus, as you will be asked to report immediately to the vaccine clinic.
