Update: March 16, 2020, 2:22 p.m.
Dear students,
As we prepare for the start of remote instruction on March 30, we wanted to take a moment to let you know that campus is open during the extended Spring Break (March 14 to March 29). While these are challenging times, we’re doing everything we can to support you and make sure services are available. Please know that this is a rapidly-evolving situation, so these hours and resources are subject to change.
Student employees, including work-study students, should consult their supervisors for guidance regarding any modifications to regular duties.
If you are in need of technology, and have financial barriers that would negatively impact your ability to obtain technology, please ensure you fill out this survey.
Please be aware that campus is operating under guidance from SUNY, the Erie County Health Department, the New York State Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Therefore, gatherings of more than 50 people will be disallowed on campus, and services may be reduced or significantly altered to limit large gatherings in campus spaces. In addition, the CDC recommends all people maintain a six-foot radius as a measure to avoid spreading germs. Students are encouraged to take walks outside and enjoy the outdoors safely.
Students who are experiencing flu-like symptoms such as a fever, shortness of breath, coughing, or chest pain should call (716) 878-6711 for instructions on proper management. If you are a student and suspect that you’re experiencing coronavirus symptoms, isolate yourself and call the Weigel Wellness Center immediately at (716) 878-6711. Please call before going to the clinic. For evenings and weekends, please call our after-hours nurse line at 1-866-710-1002.
Call University Police at (716) 878-6333 for any emergency situations. Updates on what’s happening at Buffalo State in terms of the novel coronavirus can be found online. If you have general questions about the novel coronavirus, call the New York State novel coronavirus hotline at (888) 364-3065.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work together through this shift in operations.
