Coronavirus Information

Dear Residential Student,

Buffalo State College is committed to maintaining the health and safety of our campus community amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Please review the following COVID-19 safety protocols and mandatory arrival testing that all residential students must follow when you arrive to campus for the spring 2022 semester. These safety protocols are in place to protect your health and safety, and the health and safety of our entire campus community.  

Failure to comply with the following crucial health and safety policies will result in a referral to Student Conduct and Community Standards and could impact your ability to access in-person operations or to maintain enrollment in your courses at Buffalo State College.  

COVID-19 Safety and Arrival Testing Requirements for Residential Students
New resident student move-in is on Thursday, January 27, and returning resident student move-in is on Saturday, January 29. All residential students are required to adhere to the following COVID-19 safety protocols and complete mandatory arrival testing when you arrive to campus:

Follow COVID-19 Safety Protocols

• If you are in quarantine, isolation, symptomatic, or tested positive for COVID-19, do not return to campus until your quarantine has ended. 
  • Per updated quarantine guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), people with COVID-19 should isolate for 5 days if they are asymptomatic or if their symptoms are resolving, followed by 5 days of wearing a face mask around others to minimize the risk of infecting others.
  • Submit proof of your positive COVID-19 test results.  

• Complete your daily COVID-19 campus symptom tracker.  
• Complete your COVID-19 booster shot within seven days of your eligibility date in order to remain enrolled at the college, access facilities, or continue living on campus. 
• Complete mandatory COVID-19 testing upon your arrival to campus as instructed below.

Complete Mandatory COVID-19 Arrival Testing

• When you arrive to campus, go directly to your assigned residence hall lobby between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to check-in. You will be provided with a test kit to complete mandatory COVID-19 testing upon your arrival regardless of vaccination status. However, do not participate in arrival testing if you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days and instead follow the instructions below to submit a COVID-19 Testing Exemption Request.
  • You will be required to provide a copy of your health insurance card for testing.

• If you do not complete COVID-19 testing upon your arrival to campus, you will be required to complete your mandatory test by Friday, February 4 at one of the following testing sites. You will be required to provide a copy of your health insurance card for testing.
  • Report to Buckham Hall D Wing on campus. View the testing center schedule for available dates and times. 
  • Report to any Quadrant Run Community testing site and use your Buffalo State profile by selecting “Buffalo State” as the organization. Schedule a testing appointment at a location near you. 

• For any of the following circumstances, please submit a COVID-19 Testing Exemption Request to request an exemption from COVID-19 arrival testing:
  • If you received a positive COVID-19 test result within the past 90 days. 
  • If you received a negative COVID-19 test result from an off-campus location within the same week of coming to campus.
  • If you will be absent from campus for a particular week.

COVID-19 Vaccine and Booster Policy
For the spring 2022 semester, the COVID-19 vaccine mandate will remain a requirement for all students regularly accessing Buffalo State campus facilities, as well as a new requirement that all students receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine within seven days of becoming eligible. Face Masks Required Indoors  
All students, faculty, staff, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear face masks while indoors on campus unless actively eating or drinking. Wearing properly fitting face masks are some of the best protections we have against the spread of COVID-19, and it is critically important that we adhere to this protocol for everyone’s safety.
