Coronavirus Information

The State University at New York (SUNY) mandate for weekly COVID-19 surveillance testing is still mandatory if you visit, live, or take classes on campus.

Stay Up to Date

1. Check your email daily. Student Affairs communicates updated information directly to you. These emails are very important and could alter issues with your testing frequency/compliance.
    
2. Students in 100% remote or online courses that do not meet on campus or do not visit the campus for any other reason are exempt from testing. If you receive this message as an email, you are categorized as having an "on-campus" presence. If you are not coming to campus but received this message as an email, please contact stuaff@buffalostate.edu.
    
3. Students in traditional or hybrid courses are not automatically exempt from testing. If your course is meeting on campus, you must test. If you know you will not be on campus, email stuaff@buffalostate.edu with your name and banner number by Saturday each week. This exempts you for that week.
    
4. You may supplement campus pool testing with a negative off-campus PCR test. You must submit these results by the Saturday of the week you are appearing on campus (the test result date must match the week you are on campus).

5. If you have tested positive within the last 90 days or test positive during the semester, you must submit your test result to Student Affairs. This will exempt you from pool testing for 90 days from your test date, testing during this period may result in a false positive.

COVID-19 Surveillance Testing Details

If you are in quarantine, isolation, symptomatic, or tested positive within the last 90 days, DO NOT come to pool test.

All students who attend their weekly testing session will have a chance to win prizes which include $20 Amazon gifts cards, dining dollars, and Buffalo State apparel!

Commuter Student Schedule

Commuters may select any day and time that works for them, no appointment is needed. Please contact Student Affairs if you have conflicts with the testing schedule.

Violations

When the campus learns of a violation of the rules associated with COVID-19 safety, students may lose access to campus facilities and/or campus housing. Other disciplinary actions may be taken by the Student Conduct Office. Please ensure you are testing or communicating with Student Affairs as necessary to avoid sanctions.
